Directed by Reyhaneh Kavosh, ‘Morning’ is a musical animation about the beauty of the beginning of a day in a city.
‘3 Feet’ by Colombian director Giselle Geney was also named the best fiction in the international section while ‘Colmeia’ by Karinna De Simone and ‘Napo’ by Gustavo Ribeiro were the winners of the national short films competition.
The winners were selected by popular vote during the event. According to the director of the festival Luiza Lins, who announced the results of the vote, the children identified a lot with all the winning films.
“And this was a very special, intense and different show, all online, I hope everyone enjoyed it”, he said at the closing ceremony of the event.
Besides ‘Morning’, Kavosh attended the festival with three more animations, including ‘Coward Ghost’, ‘I Found out What to Do’ and ‘Namaki’.
‘Serok’ by Zhivar Farajzadeh was another Iranian animation competing in the festival.
The Florianópolis Children’s Film Festival exhibits films from Brazil and other different countries, which “increases the tendency of the event to be a window of the world cinema made for the children’s public”, according to Luiza Lins.
A lineup of 63 films from 12 countries was screened in the 2020 edition of the festival, which was organized online this year on November 21-28.
